Emmaus Retreat 101 is the introductory retreat experience and foundational program of the Emmaus Young Adults Ministry — created to help young people encounter Christ, discover their identity and purpose, and begin a lifelong journey of discipleship and servant leadership.

Inspired by the story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24), this retreat is designed especially for young adults seeking direction, deeper faith, authentic community, and a renewed relationship with God.

This initial retreat focuses on:

  • Getting to know God more deeply
  • Understanding ourselves and our identity in Christ
  • Discovering the meaning and purpose of life
  • Learning how to live as servant leaders
  • Building authentic Christ-centered friendships
  • Growing as missionary disciples
  • Finding hope, healing, and spiritual renewal

Recent studies indicate that approximately 70–85% of young people stop actively practicing their faith after high school. Many struggle to find meaning, purpose, belonging, and a deeper connection with God amid the challenges and pressures of modern life.

Through prayer, worship, the Eucharist, inspiring talks, small groups, fellowship, reflection, and community, participants are invited to encounter the living Christ and rediscover the fire of faith:

“Were not our hearts burning within us while He spoke to us on the way?” — Luke 24:32
